Amy Pease is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years of experience helping people understand their care and navigate the healthcare system. Through Pease Clinical Consulting, she provides healthcare navigation for individuals and families, clinical practice consulting for healthcare professionals, and independent clinical review for attorneys, insurers, and risk teams.
Amy maintains an active clinical practice and serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Her career has spanned inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care settings, giving her a broad understanding of how healthcare works, and where patients, families, and clinicians can encounter obstacles.
Her approach combines careful analysis with practical problem-solving. Whether she is helping a family make sense of a complicated care plan, researching a clinic’s documentation question, or reviewing medical records for a legal matter, her goal is to make complex information understandable and useful.
Amy has extensive experience with clinical documentation, medical necessity reviews, prior authorization, and coverage-related questions. She has worked extensively with electronic health record systems, including Epic, and is skilled at reconstructing clinical timelines and evaluating the reasoning behind care decisions. Her experience as a clinical preceptor and lecturer also informs her ability to explain medical information clearly.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, holds the AAHIVS HIV Specialist credential, and is licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber in Wisconsin.
